April 6, 2007, Newsletter Issue #173: At Home Polishing

Tip of the Week

Does your jewelry have minor surface scratches that are interfering with the bright shine of your precious metal? A quick and simple at home remedy is to polish your gold or silver with a rouge cloth. Your local jeweler can supply you with one. A rouge cloth has two pieces, one is impregnated with red rouge buffing compound, the other is a soft polishing cloth. The red rouge gently buffs out minor surface scratches, restoring a near showroom shine, while the softer cloth removes any surface rouge residue.
