Want a flashy gold chain, but for a budget price? One option is to purchase a hollow chain. Hollowformed chains give a very large look, without being heavy or expensive. An additional money saver would be to purchase 10k gold over 14k, as the 10k is much less expensive than the 14k counterpart.

Saving money by purchasing a hollow-form chain has some big disadvantages. Even normal wear can damage a hollow chain. Hanging a pendant from a hollow chain almost always does. The hllow chain looks 'big', so you want to hang a big pendant on it. But the hollow links are so thin that they wll mash quite easily, and wear away from the weight. A dented or mashed hollow-link chain is very difficult, bordering on impossible, to repair. Were you to have it repaired it would have to be extremely expensive because it would take a lot of time. The only cost-effective method to make it wearable is to remove the mashed portion and thereby shorten the chain.
A solid-link chain can be repaired nicely because the links can't be mashed flat I know this because I do it for a living. At least please don't hang pendants on those hollow chains, and be careful with them!
